2008 CATA CONFERENCE INFORMATION

Your 2008 Cata conference is just around the corner and we have changed the dates, so please mark your calendars. This year’s conference will be held August 25 – 28, 2008. As you may remember we signed a three year contract with Copper Mountain Resort, and this is our last year of that contract. Your Executive Board has done a tremendous amount of work to ensure that this is another successful conference. Rest assured this conference will consist of excellent classes, along with a fun filled four days of events. We will start off the week on Monday night with an event to be announced, Tuesday will be the dance hosted by Costilla County and the theme is “Hollywood” and Wednesday night will be the Board meeting with a dinner to follow. We have strived to provide a mix of classes that will meet a wide variety of needs for everyone, but please fill out our surveys and let us know what you like, dislike and if there is something you want to see done differently or added, we welcome all your suggestions and we use these surveys to make our conference what our members would like to have.

The new Attendance rule for this year's classes will be 100% attendance in ALL classes. This will be enforced in all classes and will be left up to the instructors.

The Executive Board looks forward to seeing everyone in August.

2008 Conference Registrations

As promptly as possible, have one person gather all of the registrations for your county, (one per member) and fax them all together to the treasurer, Ronda Lobato, Fax #719-672-3206. Provide with the fax, the total dollar amount needed to be requisitioned, an approximate date you expect the check to be processed, and an e-mail or phone contact. Please wait a couple of days before processing the requisition, as this will save us all time and energy.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations of any classes from 30-11 days prior to the conference are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations from 10 days prior to the conference date are subject to no refund.

If class changes are needed that cause a change in the amount due, please submit an amended requisition to Rhonda reflecting the new amount --including any cancellation fees. No refunds will be made for cancellations after August 11, 2008. County refunds from CATA will be made as soon after the conference as is practical for the treasurer.

Tax Exempt Credit for Lodging

When making the room reservation for your county make it clear to the reservation attendant the charges for your rooms will be tax exempt.  Ask for a fax #,and fax a copy of the sales tax exemption certificate to the reservation

attendant immediately following making your reservations.  Please keep in mind the room charges must be paid directly from county funds with either a credit card with the county’s name on it, or a county check for the charges to be exempt.  The State of Colorado will not honor tax exemption from the resort if the funds are not drawn directly from the entity on the exemption certificate and, therefore, the resort is unable to pass that benefit on to us.
