2008 PRESIDENT'S LETTER
2008 CATA Conference Information:
It's that time again for the annual CATA conference. The 2008 CATA executive board has been working hard to plan and organize the 2008 conference. We have changed the conference time to August in hope of having a much better array of eating establishments available and being able to enjoy the great outdoors.
Conference Dates-
This year’s conference will begin on Monday, August 25th thru Thursday, August 28th, 2008.
Conference Events:
Monday Night-
Your CATA board has put together a “Fajita Night” located in Bighorn B, Kokopelli’s Trail and Jill’s Deck. Come in and have a great time enjoying a fajita and getting together with old friends and making new ones by starting the week off with a bang! There will also be a keg of beer sponsored by Colorado Customware (CCI).
Tuesday Night-
The Appraisal Licensing Issues Forum will be at 5:15pm in the Copper Conference Center in Bighorn C-1. Please come and provide your input and get your questions answered on the issues facing Assessors Offices in the future.
Join us for happy hour at the Incline Bar and Grill. Please wear your lanyards to receive discounts on drinks and gear up for the dance.
Get dressed up for “A Night in Hollywood” theme dance hosted by Costilla County, sponsored by Tyler Technologies. The dance will go from 8:00-11:00pm and we’ll see who will go home with the famous CATA cup and who will be the new host for the dance next year. Remember there are awards for best dressed male and female, in addition the famous CATA cup will be awarded to the best dressed county.
Wednesday Night-
We will be having our board meeting first with dinner to follow. We have several spots open for our Executive Board and encourage anyone who would like to be a part of the board, to please run. The openings this year are for the CATA board is President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary which is a 2 year term and 2 board members. Treasurer’s position is a 2 year term, and will not be up for election this year. Being on the board is a great opportunity but also requires a lot of time from each board member. Any member who would like to be a part of this team will need full support and assurance from their Assessor so you can devote the needed time to this board in preparing the conference next year. If you have any questions about the positions, please contact one of the current board members as they will answer any questions you might have.
***Important Reminder*** In order to attend the dinner meeting you MUST have a dinner ticket when you register, if you do not have a ticket, unfortunately you will not be able to get dinner at our business meeting. There will not be any exceptions due to budget and planning with Copper Mountain.
Breakfast-
We will have a Continental breakfast each morning but on Wednesday morning we will have for the first time a HOT Continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, and potatoes etc. As for Monday, Tuesday& Thursday, in addition to a continental breakfast, yogurt will be included with our breakfast selection.
