2008 MINUTES OF ANMUAL MEETING
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CATA 2008 Annual Meeting Minutes
August 27, 2008

Board President Debbie Fangmeier called the annual meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.
Debbie welcomed everyone and introduced the Executive Board members.  She then extended a big thank-you to all the County Assessors for allowing their employees to attend the conference and their continued support of CATA.

President Fangmeier highlighted some of the changes made for the 2008 conference, mentioning the Monday Fajita night and the Wednesday hot breakfast.

Acknowledgements and thanks were extended to all the vendors attending the conference for providing monetary donations and door prizes, along with sponsoring the dance and other items. The following vendors were recognized for their additional contributions:

Special thanks were extended to the DPT for their dedication and efforts in providing 23 classes over 4 days.  A moment of silence was observed for long-time DPT employee Gene Neading, who lost his battle with cancer this past year.

President Fangmeier extended a special thanks to the Colorado Assessors Association for their continued financial support of CATA, stating that without their support, we could not have as many non-DPT classes each year.

The president reported this would be the last year the conference will be held at Copper Mountain, with the conference moving to Breckenridge for 2009 and 2010, at the Beaver Run Resort.  The conference had a very successful run at Copper Mountain, with the 2008 participation at 397 attendees, 43 counties represented and 19 Assessors attending.

All members were reminded to complete and return their Conference Evaluation Forms.  The information provided will help the board in determining how to plan future conferences.

The meeting continued with election of officers to the Executive Board.  As there was only one person nominated for each of the available board positions, all officers were elected by acclimation of the entire membership.  The 2009 Executive Board is as follows:

President – Raelene Churyk, Weld County
1st Vice President – Chris Bellegante, Boulder County
2nd Vice President – Jeremy Maldonado – Adams County
Secretary – Mike Peterson – Summit County
Treasurer – Ronda Lobato – Costilla County
Board Member – Debbie Fangmeier – Weld County
Board Member – Sara Thorpe – Jefferson County
Board Member – Sara Waller – Montrose County

Drawings for multiple door prizes were held throughout the evening.
